Dear Parents and Families,
Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year!! I look forward to the opportunity to work with your son or daughter and to meeting you.
I update my SWIFT site on a week basis, usually on Friday afternoon. If it is not updated, either I was absent from work or had technooogy problems that precluded entry.
My grades are updated on a weekly basis, usually on Friday afternoon. If they are not updated, either I was absent from work or had technooogy problems that precluded entry.
In the next couple weeks I will load documents in the docment section of this site.
My goal for my students is to support them in becoming independent, capable young adults. In order to achieve this goal, the following is important:
1. student attendance---daily, on time attendance is crucial to acadmic growth and reaching social maturity.
2. student participation---students need to be attentive and on-task during class.
3. Supplies and equipment: In order to do her/his work, students need to come to class prepared. The following items are needed.
-
- lined paper
- pens, pencils
- planners (All 9th graders were given a planner which includes a section for recording assignments, test dates, events, etc.--I will work with the 9th graders on entering information into their planners.)
- a working calculator (Because cell phones are not to be used in class, students are asked not to use the calculator function on their phones.) Calculators can be purchased at the "dollar" stores for $1.00.
- kleenex, hand sanitizer, and backpacks/book bags are recommended, but not required.
Please contact me if you have any questionsor conserns.
