Week 31 in First Grade

Hello Streun families!

Happy Earth Day!  We read Earth Day books and sang Happy Birthday to Earth.  I challenged them each to do one thing as a gift to Earth.  They discussed picking up trash, making a habit of recycling, reducing the trash, reusing things, etc.

Friday is our field trip and I hope this lovely weather holds out!  Miss Nelson and I are putting on a what to wear/what not to wear fashion show tomorrow!

Please remember the following:

Wear closed-toe shoes or boots, water-proof is best

Wear long pants to protect your skin from falling on barnacles

Pack a rain coat just in case

Pack a disposable lunch and water

Bring your backpack

We are not going in the water!

Thank you to these parents who have volunteered to go with us:

Mrs. Leingang

Mrs. Garcia

Mrs. Logan

Mrs. Harrison

I am waiting approval on 3 more too!

Thursday is celebration of Miss Nelson!  I have a cake coming from Wilson’s mom and a few kids have sent have in supplies to add to her gift.  If they bring them in remind them to give them to me! Need any ideas?  Sticky notes, highlighters, pens, paper clips, stickers, and of course books.  It’s a great way to say thank you for all the great work she has done with our kids!

Have a great week!
