Homework

If you ask your student,"Do you have homework today?"  The answer should ALWAYS be a resounding YES!  Homework is given on a daily basis.  A schedule of assignments is given at the start of the week and is due at the end of the week.  Any of the assignments (except for reading) is subject to change depending on what is going on in class.  Know that I rarely assign 2 whole pages of math homework.  Students are directed to circle the problems that are required.

  • Students should read at least 20-30 minutes and fill out their reading log w/ family help.
  • Math is usually given each day.  Check the Whitman Wildcat Assignment Book for specific assignments.  If a homework ditto is lost, it can be accessed through:    thinkcentral.com   Your child's student number is the username and the password is their capital first initial, student number, capital last initial. For Fred Flintstone, you would enter 2088055 for the username and  F2088055S for the password.  Please see DOCUMENTS/HOMEWORK/THINKCENTRAL DIRECTIONS for directions.
  • Weekly Homework/Newsletters can be downloaded from the DOCUMENTS.

Students should spend 30-50 minutes a day on homework (this includes 20 minutes of reading).  If your child is having difficulties, please let me know so that we can make adjustments.
