To BRIDGE/TIME students and their Parent/Guardian,

In order to Meet Standard for this course,
students in BRIDGE/TIME have 2 primary expectations:

1) Weekly Invoice of hours-worked with specific tasks accomplished, uploaded via My Journal in Career Cruising (by the end of the Fall semester students will be expected to submit 12 invoices in order to Meet Standard: Invoice #1: 9/30/2011, Invoice #2: 10/7/2011, Invoice #3: 10/14/2011, Invoice #4: 10/21/2011, Invoice #5: 10/28/2011, Invoice #6: 11/4/2011, Invoice #7: 11/11/2011, Invoice #8: 11/18/2011, Invoice #9: 11/25/2011, Invoice #10: 12/2/2011, Invoice #11: 12/9/2011, Invoice#12: 12/16/2011).

2) Conference Participation 3x per semester to complete a Self-Assessment using the SKILLS POTLUCK WORKSHEET.  Each student records 5 Standards/Goals (2 pre-determined by the program, 3 student-selected).  Each conference is an opportunity for students to meet with their program coaches to discuss progress in their class and the only time for BRIDGE/TIME students to report the Self-Assessment of the evidence of meeting their Goals so that each can receive their appropriate grade.

The SKILLS POTLUCK worksheet is uploaded to the Documents section classrooms.tacoma.k12.wa.us/sota/bprogram/index.php and is the guide for each conference.  The Rubric at the bottom of the worksheet can be used by each student during their Self-Assessment to portray an accurate reflection of their progress as according to the evidence they've collected for their portfolio.

If you or your student is not currently Meeting Standard in BRIDGE/TIME, participation in the above expectations is lacking.
Here is a simplified break-down of how this all translates to the grade for the course.

Grading System:

Beginning Standard: D

A posted “D” to online grades means the student has not participated in any of the above (but is given a Passing grade because they have been attending the class).

Approaching Standard: C

A posted “C” to online grades means the student has participated in either their conference OR uploaded their Weekly Invoices, but have not done both.

Meeting Standard: B

A posted “B” to online grades means the student is Meeting Standard on the above 2 expectations.

Exceeding Standard: A

A posted “A” to online grades means that the student has truly excelled in their program and has collected exceptional evidence of their performance in addition to the above expectations.

Students who did not participate in Conference #1 will use their Conference #2 & #3 to Self-Assess and demonstrate evidence of their progress in their portfolio.
