We are excited to be visiting elementary schools on Tuesday, September 20, and on Wednesday, Sept. 21, when students can try out instruments they might be interested in learning.

"Music Night" is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 21. Drop in anytime between 4 to 7 p.m. to meet the teachers, register for the class, rent instruments, purchase supplies, and check out the school.

Trumpets First Lesson
Posted by Karl Ronning on September 26, 2016 at 7:34am

For the first week of band, we are working on:

1. Practice buzzing on the mouthpiece 10 times daily.
2. Practice deep breaths and sustained tones on the trumpet 10 times daily (without pressing any buttons)
3. Visit http://www.beginningbandbootcamp.com and click on the tabs at the top to watch videos about putting the trumpet together, oiling valves, and making your first sounds.
4. Read pages 2 and 3 in the "Standard of Excellence" method book.
5. Start working on Page 6 in your method book. Memorize the three note names and fingerings for the notes presented on page 6. See if you can play those notes.
