Homework

No spelling for the week of May 20, 2013.
Math homework for the week of May 20 will be cumulative review of fourth grade concepts. Look for math packet that will be traveling home and back to school each day. 

Night of the Notables         Biography Report
Wednesday, June 5, 2013    6:30-7:30pm     Lowell Auditorium
Choose an individual who has made a significant contribution to the world and research and learn all that you can about their life. Keep track of all of your resources for your bibliography.
 
Learning Board Requirements
Your learning board (tri-fold cardboard) and presentation will include the following things:
1.      Your notable’s name and years of life
2.       A timeline of your notable’s life
3.      A picture of your notable
4.       A meaningful quote from your notable
5.       Decide how you will teach others about your notable at the learning center. You could write a report or create a game, as long as the facts are communicated. Be prepared to answer many questions!
6.      Bibliography including all of your sources with a minimum of three.
7.      Compose a bio-riddle about your notable that synthesizes your research.
8.      Design, make or find clothing for yourself that depicts your notable.

20 minutes or more of independent reading each evening will bolster your skills and is expected!

Typically, Spelling homework is due each Thursday, with a test on Friday. 
 
Basic math facts practice is an important part of your daily homework. The goal is to complete 100 basic facts with 95% proficiency or better in 4 minutes or less and the sooner the better! Due to time constraints, practice in class will be limited to periodic assessments.

Math homework in review of our classroom work on most nights, Monday through Thursday.
