Periods 2 and 3: SENIOR ENGLISH/HSPE SUPPORT
These classes will contain no more than 18 students and will be designed to help seniors that have not yet passed the HSPE in Reading and/or Writing. Students will complete a COE (Collection of Evidence) for the state which demonstrates their reading and writing abilities. A COE can be used as an alternative to the HSPE if the HSPE has been attempted twice. All students in the class will take the HSPE as well, unless notified by the state OSPI office that they have passed.
In addition, students in these classes will stay enrolled for the year, and will work on the Senior Project, as well as other Senior English requirements.

This class will contain no more than 18 students, and will help prepare 9th and 10th graders for the HSPE test in the spring, and for the reading and writing demands of high school. Most work for this class is completed in class.
