Hello there!  I'm so excited to be your student's 3rd grade teacher!   I believe that the best way to help our students reach their potential is to work as a team--my door is always open.  I also want to let you know that one of the strongest elements in my teaching practice is to build empathy and an awareness of learning as a process in students.  We all have unique challenges and needs, and we all have those places where we shine.  It is my hope that, with the work we do this year, students will support each other, celebrate each other's strengths and act with sensitivity and generosity when it comes to those areas in which we are still growing and learning.

I look forward to working with you and your student to make it a memorable, challenging, and fun year!

SCHOOL AGREEMENTS

At Blix, students and staff embark on a mission every year to work and learn as a team.  Our new mission statement expresses our spirit of determination, community, collaboration, inclusion, and achieving our rigorous goals:

At Blix…We care. We count.  We can.  Sí se puede. We are one.

To achieve this mission, we pledge daily to be STAR students, using our star student pledge:

I am Safe.

I Take responsibility.

I am an Active learner.

I am Respectful.

I am STAR student.

CLASSROOM AGREEMENTS

At the beginning of the school year, our class creates a Classroom Constitution together, which you can find below.  This is a pledge we make as a group about how we want to feel when we’re at school. The pledge is a guide for practices we can follow to create a classroom that helps us be the best learners and community members we can be.  The Constitution is directly aligned to Blix’s principles of being a STAR student  The entire class, including myself, will sign this constitution and pledge to be stellar citizens. .
