Welcome to LRC Math for the 2016-2017 school year. My name is Mrs. Richardson and I am located in Room 1304.

Class Description: This course is intended to teach students math concepts set forth by the Math Common Core Standards. Instruction will be based on the units in the EngageNY textbook.  Students will work on improving and excelling In Mathematics as they work to master the concepts and skills outlined in their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Because we are a community of learners, please also expect to work periodically in group situations and to present information to your peers in groups or individually.

Please understand that the studying of math facts and practicing math work at-home is expected and is critical in your continued growth in learning.  You will be held accountable for at-home practice by various methods.

Please come to class prepared. The required materials for the class are as follows:

◊  AVID Binder with materials

◊  Composition Notebook (Interactive Notebook)

◊  Pencils and Highlighters

◊  Planner - for daily agenda

Grading Policy

Grades are available to be viewed online through the Home Access Center (HAC).

Grades are made up of two parts:

  • Homework / Classwork (10% of grade)

  • Quizzes / Tests (90% of grade)

Students can re-take quizzes/tests during pre-arranged times.  In order for students to re-take any quiz, they must first show that they studied the material at home (practice work, etc). Homework assignments are given every day but Friday and during testing times. Homework is a time where students practice and become proficient in what they have learned in the class, so it is important that homework is completed and for students to ask for help at home.
